Rest, Healing and Sleep: Shavasana Immersion, Indu Arora

Deep rest as sleep is one of the  3 pillars of health according to Ayurveda. Shavasana literally means the corpse position. It is not just a 5 minutes or a momentary practice, instead it is a precise, conscious and step-by-step approach in-order to prepare the body and mind for higher states of awareness. The purpose of this position is to allow for the deepest rest, healing and rejuvenation to the body and mind.

In the present times when there are abundant stimuli, shavasana is the practice of and for rest, healing and deep sleep.  In this full day immersion, I invite you to understand and experience the following:
  • What is Shavasana
  • Benefits to body, mind and breath
  • Prepractices for Shavasana
  • Breath and brain during Shavasana
  • Movement of Prana in Shavasana
  • 3 techniques and practices of Shavasana
  • Shav-asana as a preparation for Yoga Nidra

Yoga for Inner Transformation, Shari Friedrichsen

5 CEUs available

Yoga itself is the power of transformation. We can use the philosophy and practice of yoga to transform the sorrows, doubt, anger, and hatred that may be ours personally but are also manifesting in the world today. The philosophy of yoga that says we are bright beings, divine consciousness itself, and have unlimited vast potential is real, though sometimes we feel pretty far away from this reality.

Use your mat, your breath, your practice to bring the philosophy of kindness, truth, and strength deep into your bones and tissues, uncovering the secrets of your being, transforming doubt and fear into kindness and courage, changing the way you see yourself and others.

Discover practices that establish connection, uplift the spirit, and remind us that our inner and abiding radiance is stronger than any darkness that we may be experiencing personally or collectively. Use your practice to transform negative habits into self-loving understanding and expansion. Use yoga practice to tap into the grace that resides within. Yoga leads the way to wholeness and oneness.
1 hour lecture interwoven into 3 hours asana and pranayama and 1 hour meditation and shavasana

Turning Towards| The Yoga of YAMA, Kevin Courtney

The health and functional power of any sangha is a reflection of its individual parts.  What each of us brings to the collective; our words, attitudes, and actions make up the essential qualities which govern the coherence of the whole.

In other words, how we show up and what we bring to the table matters.

In our quest for a felt state of oneness, the first limb of yoga (Yama) offers a deep well of resources to help us see, feel, and understand ourselves and the world around us more holistically.  The practices of Yama help shape our willingness to be understanding and compassionate, to abide in truthfulness, act in integrity, tend to our vital energy, and to enhance the strength and measure our generosity.
Join Kevin Courtney for this insightful and inspiring all-day immersion that dives into the teachings alive at the heart of Yama.

The workshop includes:
  • Tantric hatha yoga asana
  • Guided meditation and pranayama
  • Contemplative INSIGHT exercises
  • Philosophical group discussion and self-reflection
  • Deep relaxation and time for integration

Breathe life into the heart of your practice and the heart of the sangha, and experience the full radiance of what the yoga of Yama has to offer.

Integrated Pranotherapy: The Pranic Circulatory System & Vital Points for Yoga Teachers, Jeff Masters

5 CEUs available

Prana is the ubiquitous life force that flows to, through and around us, and is said to energize our body via the mechanism of our breath. This life force flows through and is consolidated at various places within the body, creating pathways and vital points, which can impact our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being. When this vital force becomes obstructed it gives rise to dis-ease, injury, trauma and physiological dysfunction.

During this session we will explore the pranic circulatory system, how to approach it from a Kosha-based perspective and access the pathways of awareness that lay at the boundary between sensory and subtle body awareness. Participants will also be introduced to the Vital Point System and techniques for becoming aware of and increasing Pranic flows in and around the body and how the practice of Yoga impacts each one.

This sessions will include both lecture and practice. All levels are welcome.
