Jeff Wright

Considered by many as the father of yoga in Dubuque, the festival established an annual tuition scholarship in Jeff's name as recognition for all he means to yoga in the Dubuque community.

Jeff, E-RYT 500, has had a daily yoga practice since 1972 and has been teaching both hatha yoga and meditation since 1986.

He has a BA in philosophy and an MA in education, and is the author of numerous articles and books on yoga – most recently Way of Stillness (2015), which develops a philosophically sound path to deep insight.  Jeff’s classes are often student centered and celebrate individual differences in ways inspired by Expeditionary Learning-Outward Bound.  With his wife, Tracey Roberts, he operates People’s Yoga (Platteville, WI), and formerly The Galena Yoga Center.  Jeff has been a philosophy teacher on Body & Soul’s Yoga Teacher Training and Personal Transformation 200 hour program since its inception, and he provides a free weekly meditation practice at Body & Soul.
