If you're among the growing number of people who find they are sensitive to foods like wheat, dairy, corn, or soy, you already know how food sensitivities can seriously impact quality-of-life. We'll explore food sensitivity as a symptom of immune system distress and discuss how an unregulated autonomic nervous system commonly causes this trouble. THE POWER OF SELF-ISH YOGA
with Steve Emmerman & Talya Ring - Turbodog
An asana and energy-practice experience. Use your feelings to create a new internal dialogue. While most of us critique ourselves harshly, we are expected, as yogis, to be kind and loving towards everyone else. The only way we can accomplish this is to learn to accept ourselves as we are in each moment. Nobody can create this acceptance for you, you must create it from within. When you have the confidence that goes along with self-acceptance, you can then bring your gifts to the world. In this session you will learn practical tools to help you feel your true feelings without judgement, you will practice how to use the power of loving energy to help you love yourself more completely and you will gain valuable forgiveness tools to help you be more compassionate towards the parts of yourself you don't like. The way you speak to yourself will be changed forever... which for most, would be no small thing.

KIRTAN CONCERT: Steve Emmerman and Band
Steve Emmerman says this about the concert...
"Our Kirtan makes people jump out of their seats and burst into spontaneous happy dances. Really! It is just that much fun. You'll get to belt out funky cool tunes and enjoy the same kind of yoga buzz you experience in your asana practice. And the best part is you don't even have to be singing on key. In fact, most people aren't, and no one cares or even notices.
Kirtan is one the world’s oldest forms of consciousness modification practices through music. What we now know scientifically is that when you practice Pranayama or sing intently for a long period of time, you undergo neurological changes, which produce a massive secretion of chemicals and neuropeptides that give you a feeling of bliss and well-being. It is the perfect medicine for today's high-intensity, stress-filled life.
We will be singing in Sanskrit (the ancient language of yoga) set to catchy, easy to learn melodies. It requires no experience, no strength, no flexibility, no knowledge of mantras or Yoga philosophy, no beliefs of any specific kind, and no singing expertise in order to have a deeply transformative experience.
FESTIVAL MEDITATION VIGIL: Jai Ram, Jim Earles, Jeff Wright and other experienced yogis will be sitting in stillness throughout the Festival. All participants are welcomed and encouraged to join them, even if for a few minutes, in the atrium that overlooks the Mississippi River.
